When you have a Labrador, like it or not, you must train your Labrador. Why is it necessary? We all know that a dog including Labrador needs to be trained to avoid him from negative behaviors such as chewing, biting, or keep barking. These negative behaviors could impact huge damages both to you or your house. So, training Labrador is must for the sake of the owner and the dog itself.

Whether you train Labrador to a dog training school, professional dog trainer or you train your dog by yourself, it does not a matter. The keys are you know what training method for your Labrador, what leash is appropriate, and what the best food is. When it comes to training Labrador, most of this breed can carry something in its mouth without chewing or damaging the object. Anyway, you still need to train your Labrador to train this exercise. Remember, the best time train this exercise is at least once before mealtime.

Let your dog smell a food when you hold a small piece of it in your fist. You could offer to your Labrador. Say “No” when your dog bites your fist or uses the teeth. It is better you praise your Labrador when your dog only sniffs or licks your hand. Don’t forget to give the dog a treat. You could do this training Labrador for about three or four days. Once you complete the training, you may try to offer the food between your finger instead of in your fist. You could repeat the same actions.

Choosing the right food is one of the important things to do in training your dog. Whether you choose packaged dog food or fresh dog food, it should contain the right combination of fat, carbohydrate, protein, vitamin, mineral and water. One thing to remember, if you give your dog fresh food, you should avoid beef. Beef makes your Labrador hard to digest. It can cause gastrointestinal problem. It is better for you to give your dog some meat of chicken, lamb or turkey. Giving appropriate food will help your training Labrador easier.

You should consider that Labrador is a social animal. Your Labrador adores the owner and always finds a way to please the owner. Labrador also is known as an intelligence dog. It is very intelligent creatures and will respond well to training of all types, even training that is not optimal or well presented. Last but not least, you need to be consistent in training Labrador. So every time you train your dog calmly and gently, you teach your dog what you want and also make training sessions enjoyable for both you and your Labrador. After all have been done, your Labrador will be a loyal companion for you.
