Havanese dogs has devotion and companionship traits that you can expect as the most prevalent and positive traits. In a small apartment, they can stay with ease. They do not require lots of exercise requirement and big space to play around. In many cases, these breed are very easy to take care.

Many common diseases and health ailments are prone in various dog breeds. In Havanese dog, relatively few genetic diseases occur in this breed, and that is a great thing. So, for anybody interested in own Havanese dog, this can be consider as welcome note.

Cataracts, progressive retina atrophy, and autoimmune skin conditions are these dogs’ genetic problems. So, quality preventive care through heart worm pills, flea and tick medications, and vaccinations are important to maintain. For virtually every breed of dog, it is necessary to do those preventive health measures.

Around 16 to 18 years is the typical life span of Havanese dogs. This is also one of the advantages for dog owner.

There are several personalities that Havanese dog owner should know. First, Alert and playful are the temperaments of this breed. When they meet larger dogs they do not feel afraid. Havanese dog considered as brave and a good watch dog. To their family, they also show a good devotion.

Children also can play along with this breed. Do not treat them like a toy, but take them as a good companion. Swimming, playing in the yard and friends for walks are great to do with them because they have active nature and good playful attitude. Remember, they do need exercise event though they tend to be an indoor dog.

Work well with kids and a great house pet are the characteristics of this dog. Create a loving relationship and respect them are critical to tell your children.

Second, American Kennel Club classifies this breed as a member of the Toy group. For someone lives in the city, having this breed may be a good decision. House dogs and wonderful apartment are their classed by American kennel Club because their small stature.

Third, curl up on the couch with you is something they love best. But, never forget; put walking as their exercise plan because they also need to take a walk. Sometimes when they play with you, they love to be carried during the walk. It will not be a problem because they are so small and adorable. But, exercise is important to them. If you carry them, they will feel irritable, restless, and only spoil them. Behavioral problems will arise if they feel irritated, restless, and bored.

Their mental health also will maintained beside fit physically if you give them exercise and play. A good belly rub, games, and walks will keep your dog healthy and happy.

The last, as a family dogs they are wonderful. If you socialize and train them properly, they will good for your children.   Watch over their family is their innate need. As a watch dogs, barking is the only thing we can depend from them as attacking intruder is not their ability.

Adopt them in your family and you will not regret. They are so cute and will be loved by every member of your family at no doubt.
